Nature Nook Addition To Forest School
WalesThe latest addition to the Outdoor Forest Centre at West Mon School in Pontypool is the Forest Cabin or ‘Nature Nook’ as the children have named it. It was the brainchild of Wellbeing Support Officer Michael Allen & will provide an all year teaching facility for children with social & behavioural issues. It will be used by over 100 children at the school as well as the wider catchment area to study the local flora/fauna & conservation & is expected to boost self esteem, confidence, social skills & mental health.
The project was opened by Pontypool Front Row legend Graham Price MBE of Wales & British Lions fame.Graham was a pupil of the School in the 70s & his granddaughter now attends the school.

This new-build Specialist Equipment & Facilities project provides a purpose-designed environment to support children and young people in their educational journey. Designed to enhance learning opportunities and improve access to specialist resources, the facility will help pupils engage more fully with their education while supporting their individual needs and development.
